The Stone Cottage is our family room at Shanag — a green-roofed stone-and-wood cottage set on the open lawns with genuine room to spread out. It sleeps three to four across multiple beds, so a family or a small group can be together without being on top of each other, which is exactly what a hotel room never quite manages.
The orchard is on all sides and the lawns are right outside the door, so children (and dogs — both our homes are pet-friendly) have somewhere to run while you sit with a chai and the peaks. There's dedicated parking by the cottage, and the kitchen is happy to cook simple, familiar plates for a fussy young eater alongside the grown-up food.
It's a real cottage, not a marketing word — stone walls, a pitched roof, and space that a family actually uses. Old Manali and Mall Road are a short drive when you want the town; the rest of the time the orchard is enough.

It's built for it — space inside, orchard lawns to run around outside, dedicated parking, and a kitchen that will happily cook simple, familiar meals for young children. Both homes are pet-friendly too, so the dog is welcome on the lawns.

Yes, there's dedicated parking by the cottage — easy for a family arriving with luggage, and handy if you've driven up from Delhi or Chandigarh with a car full.
