Balcony & Mountain-View Room

A snug room with a lounge corner and French windows opening to the pine-clad slopes — pull a chair out for the morning sun and the ranges.

This is our room for the solo traveller and the couple who value a good window over a big floor. It's snug by design, with a small lounge corner and French windows that open to the pine-clad slopes — the kind of room you make a cup of chai in and don't leave for an hour.

The sit-out catches the morning sun, which is the room's quiet luxury: on a clear winter day you can sit with the ranges in front of you and the warmth on your face while the valley below is still in shadow. It's a double bed, comfortable for one to spread out or two who don't need much space.

We call it snug because it is, and we'd rather you know that going in — it's built for the light and the view and a slow morning, not for unpacking a fortnight's luggage. For the price of a little floor space you get one of the nicest windows in the house.

Snug by design — the room trades floor space for one of the best windows and sit-outs in the house.

Questions

Balcony & Mountain-View Room — your questions

Is this room suitable for a solo traveller?

It's the one we'd pick for you. It's a snug, comfortable room with a lounge corner and a sit-out that catches the morning sun — an easy room to settle into on your own, with hosts who keep an eye out and honest advice on the valley whenever you want it.

What is the sit-out / balcony like?

French windows open onto a small sit-out facing the pine-clad slopes. Pull a chair out for the morning sun and the ranges — on a clear winter day it's the nicest spot in the room.

How many people does it sleep?

One to two. It has a double bed — roomy for one, comfortable for a couple who don't need a lot of floor space. It's our snuggest room and priced-in-attention rather than in square metres.
